Detailed Design

IAE specializes in the preparation of erection specifications and detail design of plant facilities and systems. This includes the thermal cycle, civil/structural, mechanical, electrical and control systems design. Substation, protective relay systems and water treatment plants have also been designed by IAE personnel.

Procurement

IAE can provide complete procurement services from preparation of specifications through negotiation, preparation of contracts and purchase orders. IAE can provide qualification, expediting and surveillance services of vendors and suppliers.

Owner’s Engineering Services

IAE’s experienced engineers provide plant conceptual designs, project scoping, cost estimates and schedules to enable management to make investment decisions of the best possible value. Research, calculations and other support are provided to support environmental permit applications, and fuel contract negotiations. Engineering oversight of the project’s development can be provided to review the design, monitor progress and control the owner’s risk during design and construction. IAE can also provide construction management services to insure control over cost, schedule, quality and risks. IAE’s members can also develop O&M budgets, manuals and startup procedures.

Communications

The IAE System Manager will provide the engineering design and project management with the appropriate technology to complete the Project, using only as much passive digital support as feasible. This is accomplished through the employment of state-of-the-art communications technology. This objective will be accomplished by implementation of standard software customized for the project, as well as some proprietary licensed software which will provide support functions for the management of the project. Major application software components proposed to be implemented throughout the life of the Project are:

Engineering Design System Database to support multidiscipline material specifications and BOM, etc
CAD Standard Drawings for frequently used components (block drawings)
Project management
Accounting and operations support
Document management - cataloging and indexing of all drawings, e-mail for meeting minutes and other types of documentation
Work flow and construction management

Critical systems include those applications that will be necessary to monitor the capital resources and day to day business operations required for the successful management of the project.

At the conclusion of the project, all equipment and related applications will be re-deployed back to the plant operations group for permanent record of as-built drawings, in-plant predictive and preventive maintenance programs, and local U. S. reporting and systems management documentation.

Siting Analysis

IAE has the resources to find the best site available in a bounded area. Once a general site is found, a specific location will be identified and site specific studies and testing performed to provide needed design parameters that will affect cost and schedule.

Environmental permit applications and all essential activities can be provided to make a complete project.
